The Business Intelligence and Analytics (BI&A) Medical support team supports the Medical Evidence Generation business by providing insights into a diverse portfolio of studies across various modalities to enable business outcomes through data, advanced analytics, and actionable intelligence. The tracking of progress of studies and being able to provide clarity of the qualitative and quantitative data being produced to enable strategic decision-making and accelerate Evidence Generation. The team is responsible for interpreting vast amounts of data in the context of the organization’s Medical Evidence Generation strategy.

Summary: As a Manager in the Medical Evidence Generation team, you will oversee the team of Data Analysts 1, 2, and 3. You will be responsible for project management, ensuring quality of deliverables, and coaching and career development of your staff. Your leadership and ability to innovate will directly impact and advance the success of Medical Evidence Generation initiatives. This role is directly stakeholder facing across time zones.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee the completion of projects on time and within budget.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of data analysis and reporting. Implement quality control processes.

  • Coaching and Career Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to the team. Foster their professional growth and development.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on evidence generation strategies and priorities.

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Provide evidence-based recommendations to BIA MEG Counterparts to Influence clinical portfolio plans and market impact strategies.

  • General Management: Oversee and manage the team to deliver analytical and reporting solutions, Oversee and manage all technical tasks performed by the analytics team, including maintenance/enhancement of Tableau dashboards, business rules, mapping documentation, automated processes, and more. Coordinate with the iMAP and other back-end data teams as needed to ensure the smooth flow of data into all downstream reports and processes.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Proficiency in project management tools, methodologies, and portfolio analytics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • History of mentoring and developing teams

  • Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.

Experience

  • 7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience required in analytics roles.

  • Seasoned professional with experience in managing teams, overseeing complex projects, and driving evidence-based decision-making.

  • Medical background experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

  • Technical Skills (SQL, Python), Data Quality management, Analysis simplification and visualizations, Problem solving and Critical Thinking.

  • Experience working successfully with senior stakeholders in a matrix environment, including articulating value propositions, challenging assumptions, balancing trade-offs, and managing demand. The ability to manage competing priorities is a must.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information into easy-to-digest written formats.

  • Clinical or pharmaceutical / healthcare industry experience preferred.
